Welcome to GET’s new website. Considerable time and effort have been spent to make this site more user friendly. In addition, GET now has Facebook and Twitter pages. These new resources will be available to help our customers get timely information about GET! The new website and social media pages are part of an initiative to increase customer satisfaction and respond to the needs of our community.

In 2010, the GET board of directors adopted new mission, vision and quality statements. These written words will guide the actions of the GET staff as we move forward in 2011.

This year, we are in the process of completing a long range transit study that will identify where and how service is needed.  As our community grows, we want to respond with service that will encourage our residents to use public transit instead of a car. This will result in reducing costs for bus users, providing a safer ride than is possible in a car and will help reduce air pollution.

The new quality statement

GET is committed to a consistent level of quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in everything we do.  We use our skills, talents and ideas to respond to our customers’ needs.  Our success is evaluated through customer feedback and by an objective measurement process.

GET is a vital resource for our community.  Every day thousands of people use public transit to go to work, school, medical appointments and a dozen other places around the city. We are committed to ensuring our staff is providing great customer service and we are using every resource to meet the needs of our customers.

The new Mission statement

Golden Empire Transit District’s mission is to consistently provide safe, accessible, reliable, and affordable public transportation to diverse customers in the greater Bakersfield area.

Our job is to make sure that people can get to where they need to go.  We work hard every day to get the buses on the road safely and reliably to carry people throughout the metro Bakersfield area.  We want to make sure all of our customers can get to their jobs, schools, medical appointments, shopping and recreational opportunities economically and conveniently. You can depend on us.
