Dispatcher
Golden Empire Transit in Bakersfield, CA has a unique opportunity for an experienced Dispatcher to provide radio communication for drivers of both fixed route and paratransit buses. This position will also make reservations for paratransit service, and will need to master the paratransit dispatching software to proficiency. This position will also schedule drivers, buses and route assignments.
Requires:
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- Three to five years of transit experience
- Prior experience as a dispatcher
Licenses/certificate: Possession of a valid California Class B Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement and appropriate medical certification. Possession of a valid California Verification of Transit Training Document.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience: an excellent benefit package is offered: fully paid health insurance for employee and dependent; 3 weeks vacation per year, 12 sick days per year and educational reimbursement is available upon management approval. A post-offer physical and drug screen is required. Successful candidates will also be required to undergo a Department of Justice background investigation.
