GET announces time changes & route changes starting October 4, 2009
Starting October 4, GET Customer Service and Administration Office hours will change.
Customer Service Hours: Customer Service telephone service will stop at 10 PM, Monday through Friday. The Customer Service Kiosk at the Downtown Transit Center will also close at 10 PM weekdays.
Adminstration Office Hours: The Adminstration office at 1830 Golden State Avenue will be open from 8 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday.
The Adminstration office will be closed every other Friday. The office will be open until 5 PM the other Friday. The Adminstration office will be open the following Fridays this year: October 2, 9 and 23, November 6 and 20, and December 4 and 18. The Adminstration office will be closed the following Fridays this year: October 16 and 30, November 13 and 27 and December 11 and 25. Please call 661-324-9874 for more information.
ROUTE CHANGES:
Route 8: Bus will run on Niles Street and stop operation through Hillcrest Center parking lot, west of Crestmont. Operation in Hillcrest Center east of Crestmont will remain the same.
Route 10 replaces Route 16: Rt. 10 will extend operation to Ridgeview High School southbound on Stine Rd., eastbound on McKee Rd., northbound on Akers Rd., and westbound on Panama Ln. In addition, it will stop operation on Summerfield Dr. and Maybrook Ave., but will operate on Panama Ln. to Stine Rd.
Route 12 replaced by NEW Route 25 on Weekends: Route 12 will be combined with Rt. 15 on Saturdays and Sundays as new Route 25 to provide service every 90 minutes between Southwest Transit Center, Stockdale Village, Downtown Transit Center, GET Office, and Westchester.
Route 13 Extended to new Wal-Mart on Panama Lane and to Wible/White Lane: Route 13 will be extended to serve the new Wal-Mart on Panama Lane. The route will also be revised to operate on Wible Rd. between Planz Rd. and White Ln. The route will not operate on Hughes Ln. between Planz Rd. and White Ln. and on Planz Rd. between Hughes Ln. and Wible Rd.
Route 14 and 18 replaced by NEW Route 26 on Weekends: Routes 14 and 18 will combine on Saturdays and Sundays as new Route 26 to provide service every 45-50 minutes Saturdays and 110 minutes Sundays. Route 14 will also re-route to Cal State to operate westbound on Granite Falls from Northwest Promenade, southbound on Main Plaza, and westbound on Rosedale Hwy. Bus will no longer operate in Target parking lot.
Route 15 extends service on Truxtun Avenue: Rt. 15 will extend service to the Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center on Truxtun Extension Monday through Friday. Evening service will stop after 7:30 PM.
Rt. 15 and Rt. 12 will combine on Saturdays and Sundays as new Route 25 to provide service every 90 minutes between Southwest Transit Center, Stockdale Village, Downtown Transit Center, GET Office, and Westchester.
Route 18: Rt. 18 and Rt. 14 will combine on Saturdays and Sundays as new Route 26 to provide service every 45-50 minutes Saturdays and 110 minutes Sundays. Rt. 18 will re-route to operate westbound on Granite Falls from Northwest Promenade to Main Plaza and operate southbound on Coffee Rd. to Rosedale Hwy., westbound on Rosedale, and Northbound into Northwest Promenade.
