GET Hires New Marketing Manager
Bakersfield, CA — The Golden Empire Transit District (GET) announced today that Janet Sanders has been hired as the District’s new Marketing Manager. Sander’s official first day was November 20, 2019. She will lead the GET marketing team in promoting GET fixed-route, GET-A-Lift, and RYDE services.
Sanders is a marketing professional with over 25 years of brand development experience. She previously worked with the Kern County Fair focusing on corporate sponsorships and public relations. “I look forward to sharing my expertise to help fulfill GET’s mission to the Bakersfield community,” said Sanders, who has established successful local and regional media and agency relationships during her professional career.
A graduate of San Diego State University and the University of Phoenix, Sanders is a long-time resident of Bakersfield with an extensive professional network in the region. “We are so excited to welcome Janet to the team,” said Karen King, GET’s CEO. “Her marketing experience and valuable media relations will help lead Bakersfield public transportation into the future.”
GET was formed in July 1973 and is the primary public transportation provider for the Bakersfield Urbanized Area. It is the largest public transit system within a 110-mile radius. The District’s legal boundary includes Bakersfield city limits as well as adjacent unincorporated areas.
