Golden Empire Transit District Job Fair Open House April 21 and 22, 2021

Bakersfield, CA – Golden Empire Transit District (GET) has announced a Job Fair Open House to be held virtually on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 10am to 2pm visit www.getbus.org/careers for the ZOOM link to participate. On Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 10am to 2pm GET will be holding in-person on the spot interviews in the GET Bus Board Room, 1830 Golden State Avenue. GET will be hiring bus operators, maintenance positions, and bus cleaners.

Come prepared with your resume, must have high school diploma or GED and bring DMV K4 print out. Minimum qualifications include ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class B California driver’s license with passenger and air brake endorsements, driving record acceptable to District’s insurance underwriter, ability to obtain and maintain a current Medical Certificate. GET will provide onsite training for bus operator positions (please note bus cleaners do not need Class B License).

GET was formed in July 1973 and is the primary public transportation provider for the Bakersfield Urbanized Area. It is the largest public transit system within a 110-mile radius. The District’s legal boundary includes Bakersfield city limits as well as adjacent unincorporated areas. GET has a fleet of 88 compressed natural gas buses equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks. GET serves 16 routes, operating 7 days a week and transporting more than 6 million passengers each year with its fixed-route buses.
