Paint and Body Technician 31.66/hr.
Job Summary:
Performs major and minor paint work, body repairs on buses, cars and trucks operated by the Golden Empire Transit District.
Essential Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform body and paint repairs to all District vehicles.
- Perform shelter and bench maintenance including, painting, repairing and rebuilding.
- Weld and fabricate damaged tools, vehicles and equipment.
- Must be able to maintain VOC records and comply with state regulations.
- Drive forklift, truck, and buses as required to perform maintenance.
- Keep records of jobs and hours.
- Maintain an inventory of paint and body supplies.
- Prepare estimates for accident damage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED- Graduation; plus
- Minimum of two years’ experience performing body work
- Possess a valid Class “C” California driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance underwriter; ability to obtain a Class “B” driver’s license.
- Certificate to operate a forklift.
- Reading, mathematical and written language skills in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must have own body, paint, and hand tools.
- Must be able to work an evening shift, weekends and holidays.
- Proof of current Covid-19 vaccination required at time of hire.
Pre-placement physical and drug screen required. The successful candidate will also be required to undergo a Department of Justice background investigation.
