GET is currently seeking a Safety, Security and Training Administrator to join our team!

Under general supervision, the Safety, Security and Training Administrator is responsible for overseeing the Safety, Security and Training Department’s various programs related to driver and maintenance staff training requirements. The incumbent in this role provides administrative support in the preparation and implementation of the Department’s programs and ensures record-keeping compliance with applicable regulations.

What you will do:

  • Coordinates and provides administrative oversight for the District’s safety and training programs, including: new hire training for Coach operators, Part-Time Drivers, and applicable Maintenance personnel; Defensive Driving training; accident prevention retraining; State-mandated annual CDL training; new hire training for Transportation Supervisors and Dispatchers; ensures ongoing qualification of the DMV Employer Testing Program; and oversees various required driver safety and security courses.
  • Prepares for and facilitates driving training program audits on a periodic basis.
  • Develops accident-prevention and loss-control training programs for incorporation into operational policies of the District.
  • Creates, evaluates, and refines the District’s driver training programs as needed, including training programs for positions within the Safety, Security and Training Department.
  • Assists the Safety, Security and Training Coordinators by preparing lesson plans, training materials, and class setup for Defensive Driver Instruction.
  • Develops and prepares training materials, lesson plans, and training instruction for various employees and programs, including: newly hired/promoted Transportation Supervisors, Dispatchers, and applicable maintenance personnel; Employer DMV testing; state mandated annual CDL training and various required safety and security specialized courses.
  • Partners with the Operations Department staff to assist in the investigation of driver accidents and in the determination of accident preventability for the purpose of driver retraining and mitigation.
  • Develops, maintains, and submits CHP and DMV required reporting documents.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records relating to the District’s driver trainees, including records on customer service standards, driver compliance, skills testing, and driving assessment outcomes for probation and re-evaluated drivers/trainees.
  • Performs audits of primary and alternative DMV skills and driving courses to ensure compliance with CHP, DMV, and federal requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

How you will shine:

  • Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of responsible administrative office support experience in related field, required.
  • A valid California Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance underwriter.
  • Possess knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exercises proper filing and record keeping principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and composure at all times, in person and over the phone, including in stressful situations and when overseeing the administration of the District’s training programs.
  • Demonstrates an ability to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements related to driver safety and training, including principles and practices relating to transit operations.
  • Must be able to learn the District’s transit schedules, routes, and programs.
  • Educates trainees on the District’s written policies, procedures, and work requirements and oversees adherence.
  • Exercises excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills in preparing and maintaining accurate reports, records, memoranda, and other correspondences.
  • Ability to work early mornings, late evenings and/or weekend assignments and travel to various off-site locations as business needs require.
