GET&go Reduced Fare Voucher

GET&go Reduced Fare operates as a low-cost subsidized transportation program for Seniors over 60 who meet the income requirements. Medically disabled individuals that qualify for GET GET-A-LIFT Paratransit service should be directed to that service.

On August 1st, On-Demand Reduced Fare became GET&go Reduced Fare voucher. This program works together with Uber and Lyft to give you a $10 off voucher per ride when you use those services. Click here for more information on GET&go.

Services are provided through the Uber and Lyft app on your smart phone. Transportation is provided for doctor appointments, senior activities, grocery shopping, and any other trips. Users do not need to medically qualify as they do with Paratransit, however they do need to apply to use the service. Applications must be on file before the rider will be given the voucher code. If a rider has not applied, and they are in the zone, they will be directed to GET&go. If they are outside the GET&go zone, other suggestions will be considered. You can download an application with the buttons below, or you can visit our office at 1830 Golden State Ave. Bakersfield CA 93301, or our Downtown Transit Center on Chester Ave. for a physical application.  Mail or drop off your application to our office address.

Booking a Ride

Reduced Fare rides are made same-day via the Uber & Lyft on your phone, or by calling customer service at 661-869-2438.  Rides can be booked between 6:30 AM and 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday, between 6:30 AM and 8:00 PM Saturday & Sunday.

Holidays

GET&go Reduced Fare will have Holiday operating hours (Same as normal hours listed above) on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Drivers cannot assist with packages or carry-ons. Packages are limited to what a rider can carry in one trip. Except for service or guide dogs, pets are only allowed on the bus if they are placed and kept in an enclosed animal carrier.

Service Area

The GET&go Reduced Fare service area is the same as GET-A-LIFT (Formerly On-Demand)'s normal microtransit boundary. Please see the map below for our GET&go boundaries.

FARES

GET&go Reduced Fare is defined as a reduced-fare senior service.  To acquire the Reduced Fare $10 voucher you must have an application on file. Call Customer Service to get the Voucher code and apply it to your Uber or Lyft account. The voucher is good for up to 20 rides per month. Rides reset automatically each month, so there's no need to re-enter the code.
