Stuff the Bus Food Drive
March 21, GET and its partners will hold the Annual “Stuff the Bus” food drive. This food drive helps our hungry friends and neighbors in Kern County. It will be held in the Sears parking lot at Valley Plaza from 4:30 AM to 7 PM.
The money and food will go to the CAPK Food Bank. Hunger is a very real problem in Kern County. Many in our county do not know where they will get their next meal. CAPK Food Bank provides nutritious food through a county wide network of 37 commodity sites, 75 pantries, after school programs, and emergency disaster response.
Last year, the CAPK Food Bank distributes more than 8 million pounds of food throughout Kern County. Fifty-seven percent of those served by the Food Bank are children.
