An Eye on the Future – Transit in Our Community
BUILD BETTER TRANSIT
The Golden Empire Transit District (GET) is conducting an Operational Analysis of their service offerings to define the future of transit in our community. “This Operational Analysis is both a critical step in our COVID-19 recovery phase as well as an opportunity for a fresh look at GET services in the context of delivery innovations. These innovations are made possible by new and emerging technologies and next-generation mobility solutions” says GET’s Chief Executive Officer, Karen King.
“We know that customer preferences and expectations for personal mobility are changing,” says King. “Transit customers want schedule information in real time, direct point to point travel, convenient first mile-last mile options integrated into transit trips, and possibly the ability to hail a ride and make same day reservations.”
GET currently provides over 6 million annual transit trips including their local and regional routes and GET On-Demand Microtransit and GET On-Demand ADA Paratransit services. On-Demand ADA Paratransit provides much needed mobility for our community’s older adults and people with a disability.
The consulting firm of IBI Group is assisting GET in conducting the operational analysis for the Build Better Transit Study. The consulting team is doing a comprehensive evaluation of GET’s current transit services with an eye on recommendations for any transit improvements.
“Public input is a very important part of the Build Better Transit Operational Analysis.” says King.
The consultant team will be conducting public and stakeholder meetings in early December.
Community Survey: GET has posted a Community Survey available on-line. “We want to know our resident’s thoughts on current transit issues and areas for improvement that may be important to them and our community.” Residents and visitors are encouraged to complete the on-line survey. “Take our online survey to share your thoughts and enter for a chance to win a valuable gift card” added King.

Get will be holding public meetings as well – more information to come on dates and times for the Public Meeting.
